I play a lot with Russ and agrees with Mike l, c/r turn lead river, if he 3 bets turn you just have to pay it off but you are most likely beat, but not enough times to justify a fold. Russ does tend to chk river a lot unless he holds monster or nothing, so you miss a little value from nothing, but more than likely he has some hand or draw which he will call the chk raise on turn. Hope your doing well out there worm.

Villian in this hand is Russ. Commerce regular, Phillipino around 30, who has the capability of playing very well, but for some reason today is spewy and out of line in quite a few pots.

He opens 3 off the button and I 3 bet the SB with AsJh. He calls.

Flop 10-8-6 rainbow. I bet he raises and I call.

Turn J completeing the rainbow. I check-call planning on checkraising a good river card?

you were there. you know how he has been playing. your instnct on what to do is going to be better than what anyone here could possibly tell you.

This is why I rarely post hands, but I thought this one was worth some discussion

I just think my hand always looks like AK or AQ and when I checkraise a river decue its going to boggle his mind. Plus for metagame purposes I think it really screws him up. Plus this is a classic SpicyF concept spot I think.

overthinking things, overleveling things. russ is straight forward even when tilty. play him straight up to get the most dollars. remember his biggest weakness is looking people up too much. he will check that river way too often with hands youd wish he would bet.

"Im 100% sure hes betting all pairs on the river."

guess again. he's totally checking 77 and 66 and so on way too often here. that's just how he plays.

Maybe he does vs you but doesn't vs Mike.

I know vs me he has made very suspect bets on the river before.

First off 66 makes a set. Second of all he was playing very crazy. Third my hand is AQ or AK like 80% of the time. But you would know what to do since you played a lot with Russ 2 years ago. Its not like i've ever played with him before.

ive played with russ a lot this year and the past few years. but you sound sure of your read and you were there. this is turning into a pointless discussion. my opinion is clear, as is yours. not much more to talk about here.

The other thing to consider towards playing the hand a little more straight forward is any card 6 or higher either completes a straight or puts trips on board which may cause Russ to hesitate and not bet the river, thus losing you at least one bet....Of course on the flip side, you can change your action based on a river card that you dont like either.
