Default Mathematics and odds when calculating hands

What is the best way to calculate hands. Is the 2 times and 4 times rule the more effective way to calculate drawing odds?

4 times and 2 times are great rules of thumb. Just make sure you don't misapply them like a lot of beginners do. Your % of hitting your outs after the flop is 4x the number of outs, only if you get to see both of the next two cards. As a beginnner I thought it was perfectly alright to call a pot sized bet on the flop (2:1) with a flush draw and call a 1/3 pot size bet on the turn (4:1).
