Re: iPhone
I doubt I'll get one (not a big gadget guy), unless it's 3-4 years down the line. I wouldn't get a first generation one anyway, because by second/third generation battery life improves and a bunch of bugs get worked out. But it's still pretty damn cool.

[ QUOTE ] $600 seems downright reasonable for ipod/phone/internet/digital camera [/ QUOTE ] 2 Megapixal camera. Don't get it for that last one. It still is a deal considering it's capabilities. Anybody see any mention of how much the plans might cost? How much are the plans for Treos and stuff? [/ QUOTE ] 1600x1200 (or widescreen equivalent) is plenty for any photos i'd be taking. |

[ QUOTE ] I don't really care about cellphones, but I'm glad I own Apple stock. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah f you dude. [/ QUOTE ] Hopefully this will cause a groundswell of support resulting in split #3 since I bought AAPL. (admittedly, due to non-balla status, I could only afford 50 shares, pre-bubble, though ) |

Re: iPhone
I've been thinking about a new iPod, plus the screen will actually be relatively usable for video (compared to the current iPods, Zen Visions, etc.) and the WiFi/Internet functionality is a deal-sealer.
Only big issue is how quickly 8GB will fill up with video (God help the folks who get the 4 GB). And Cingular (which BTW will be called AT&T by June) is iffy in Seattle. |

like, it's clearly a sweet phone, but man that's expensive. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, but to put it in perspective a trust fund buddy of mine spent like $2200 on a Motorola StarTac when they first came out circa 1995. We were all jealous because he had a flip phone. It may have even been on a digital network, can't remember, but ooh it was cutting edge. |
