Default Call or Fold?

B&M 1$/3$ NL 9 Handed

Hero 220
Villain 250

I have never played with him before, no read as I just sat down and have only been there for less than 1 orbit.

I limp UTG with J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
3 other limpers and BB checks. 5 to the flop. $15 pot

Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I lead out for $5, MP calls, Villain raises to $15, Button calls, BB folds, I reraise to $55, MP folds, Villain hesitates for about 30 seconds asks how much then calls, Button folds. $145 Pot

Turn A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I check, Villain takes about a minute and bets $50, I call fairly quickly. $245 Pot

River Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I check, Villain takes about a minute and bets $80 , I have about $110 or so left and now pot $325.

Call or Fold? And how many mistakes did I make here?

What a sick turn card followed by a sick river card. Youd be lucky to have the best hand here.

Mistakes:
1. limping UTG w/ J9
2. bet more on flop
3. re-raise more on flop

It's now $80 to win $325, call since you're getting 4:1, even though the turn and river where ripe.

Limping utg with J9s in a live game isn't as bad as it looks.

Flop bet is bad, and you get set up for the situation that you are in, where you end up putting as little money as possible in with the nuts. You should be betting at least 12 into this pot, 15-20 preferable.

As played, your flop 3-bet needs to be 75-100.

Again, as played, I puke on the turn and shove or fold, depending on your read of the villain. Folding is probably better but shoving has plenty of merit. I likely shove 60%, fold 40%.

You should never be in the position you are in on the river. I have to find a fold, though.

Yea thanks for the feedback, I should of bet more on the flop and the 3 bet definately and yea I should of shoved the turn. I should of taken a bit more time on the turn, I don't think he had the flush, either two pair or set and I was still ahead, river yea I think I had to fold there.
