I bought one yesterday. It's very nice for the money. The stand is a little on the crappy side, no height adjustment. Otherwise no complaints.

Wow, you MIGHT be my hero, as I was considering dropping $700 on the 2707WFP.

Have you used a Dell/a higher quality monitor? If so, any big differences? Any dead pixels straight out of the box?

No dead pixels. I haven't used Dell monitors, but I have used the high-end HP business-class monitors (I used to work for HP until just recently) and this one looks as good. And I'm somewhat picky, but not uber-picky. FWIW, this panel uses S-PVA instead of the TN that's more common in cheaper panels.

TN has better response times, but better color reproduction (supposedly) and better viewing angles. I believe the Dells use S-PVA also (or some variant of VA).

They won't even ship me a monitor, but I'm driving down to Carmel today to pick one up. The rep I talked to said they're flying off the shelves, and the place that they ship online items from is already out of them, so if you're looking to buy one, get it ASAP.

Just got it hooked up, and it looks great. One problem, though...

When I change the resolution to 1920x1080, the screen fills out, and everything looks good. However, when I up it to 1920x1200 (which is what I want to run it at), it completely chops off like half of the screen. I tried full screen and maintaining the aspect ratio, but neither have worked. PVN, did you have this problem? Does anyone know how to fix this?

Okay, now it's chopping the ends off on any setting, so I'm completely confused. PVN, what do you have everything set at? Did you configure the screen setup at all?

Are you using DVI or VGA? What graphics adapter do you have? From what I've read, some graphics adapters can't push 1920x1600 through VGA, even if the driver will allow you to select it.

I have my display hooked up to my thinkpad T43p, which has an ATI Radeon Mobility chipset. It works great with DVI, but won't go above 1024x768 using VGA. On the other hand, my Athlon 64 X2 system with ATI Radeon X1300 will push the full resolution through either DVI or VGA output. Both of those systems are running Fedora Core 6 with the ATI fglrx driver, FWIW.
