QQ with too much action on draw-heavy flop (NL200)
villain is 18/12/3.1 (300 hands)
earlier i raised him preflop with JJ in position, he just called with KK and slowplayed all the way on a Q high board (i bet the turn, he just called, he probably wanted to check-raise the river, but i checked behind). Party Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $1/$2 6 players Converter Stack sizes: Hero: $214.20 UTG+1: $215.25 CO: $326.51 Button: $200 SB: $303.30 BB: $200 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero raises to $7, 3 folds, SB calls, BB folds. Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($16, 2 players) SB bets $14, Hero raises to $45, SB raises all-in $282.3, Hero has $162 behind if his range includes enough draws, my pokerstove-estimation tells me i have about 50% equity. but i really don't know what draws exactly he would play like this. |

Re: QQ with too much action on draw-heavy flop (NL200)
most likely a big draw or a set. I'm not thrilled to get it in here vs this opponent. Its pretty unlikely its something like AT, or even a naked flush draw. I'm folding.

Re: QQ with too much action on draw-heavy flop (NL200)
dont raise unless you intend on calling a shove. I don't like raising vs this guy. it looks like he's trying to b3bai w/ a big draw/set. Call flop and probably fold turn.

Re: QQ with too much action on draw-heavy flop (NL200)
Yeah, this isn't results oriented but on that board and given his action I think I'm flatting his flop donk and re-evaluating when the turn comes down.
Fold, as played. |

Re: QQ with too much action on draw-heavy flop (NL200)
i went for the raise because there are soooo many bad turn cards that leave me guessing.
if i intend to fold to turn action, shouldn't i just fold on the flop? that looks terribly weak, but can we ever hope to get a cheap showdown? |

Call the flop lead. I fold to the shove now you got there.

Re: QQ with too much action on draw-heavy flop (NL200)
in my experience these players will shut down with their draws (if the miss) and tp hands on the turn.
The flop call is good because your equity against his betting range is good enough to continue. However raisings bad because the hands he continues with either have you crushed (set/2prs) or you're only slightly ahead of/behind (big draws). hence you'll be putting too much money in with bad equity against his holdings. (he'll fold his tp hands/air the vast majority of the time) |

Re: QQ with too much action on draw-heavy flop (NL200)
hmm, good point.
seems reasonable to just call his flop bet and play a small pot. i folded btw, so i don't know what he had. thanks for the replies! |
