Default Blackjack - Just me on the table + Single deck

Hello everybody!

This is my first post ever here on 2+2 forums.

I'm from Brazil and I've been reading some topics for a long while, but now I have a question.

Let's say that I can play blackjack in a single table, just me against the dealer and the house will be using a single deck card.

If this conditions are applyed, can I have +EV on it?

By the way, I will not have the "surrender" button.

Thanks 4 your attention!

Some information would help. Rules? Penetration? Do you count cards?

Ok... sorry! I forgot this, but here it is:

Dealer must hit on soft 17 and stand on hard 17 or more
It's a single deck and insurance pays 2 to 1
There is no surrender
There is double after split
And I use this chart to count cards: http://img352.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ackjackcy1.jpg

Thanks!

This information is from the site:

One deck of 52 cards is used in the single deck version of Blackjack.
The deck is shuffled after every hand.
The dealer draws a card on soft 17.
Only one split is allowed.
The player may only double on nine, 10 or 11.
There is no surrender option available in the single deck version of the game.
The number of cards that can be dealt to the player is limited only by choice (by clicking on ‘STAND’), or by the hand total being greater than or equal to 21.
If the dealer has a 10, Jack, Queen, or King as the up card it is possible he has a blackjack, in which case your hand will lose, unless you also have a blackjack. The dealer will check for blackjack immediately if one is possible, and will collect the losing bet immediately if he holds a blackjack.

If my figures are correct, you're fighting a house edge of approx 0.15% with the rules you gave--assuming you get paid 3:2 on naturals and are using optimal basic strategy.

The chart you posted is not "counting" but a basic strategy chart. Just glancing over it, it does not appear to be optimal for the rules you cited. I'd suggest that you visit Ken Smith's Basic Strategy Engine website and input the specific rules for your game.

Very good engine there! Thanks Tom Ames! It says that I got a 0.17% casino edge.

And how about couting cards... is there any software that does it?

Where can I get more information about this?

And about insurance... is +EV or not?

Don't get confused--it's the casino that has that edge.

If the deck is re-shuffled after each round, counting cards will be virtually useless. I am unaware of any software to do this.

bj21 , ap.com , Blackjack forum

Insurance pays 2:1, so it is only +ev if the ten-count cards remaining comprise more than one-third of all the cards remaining to be dealt.

You got off a lot cheaper than most then. Most people throw away a lot of money before realizing there's no easy money from gambling.

Online blackjack is about collecting bonuses. Keep your bets small to work off your wager requirement, then bail.

You might want to take on some higher-risk cover plays like VP if you want to whore a lot of bonuses from different sites.
