Default Pokerstars - 6max players get shafted when it comes to FPPs

I was curious to see how the FPP program at Pokerstars compares to other sites in terms of rakeback percentages, so I calculated the equivalent rakeback percentages in terms of FPPs, and the results are quite astonishing.

Assume 1 FPP = $0.015 (equivalent dollar amount for your purchases in the FPP/VPP store)

Here are the results (in order - Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum/Supernova)

100NL Full ring: 5.4% 8.0% 10.7% 13.4% 18.8%
200NL Full ring: 6.2% 9.3% 12.4% 15.5% 21.6%

200NL 6max: 2.8% 4.3% 5.7% 7.1% 9.9%

These results were calculated using a large sample of hands in my PT database (basically I calculated how many FPPs I would have received at the various VIP levels, converted them into a dollar value, and divided that by the total MGR over that sample of hands - did it with excel, pretty simple). The results vary depending on the stakes since 100NL pots are less likely compared to 200NL to reach the $20 threshold for gaining an FPP.

This is quite pathetic when comparing the RB of 27% at Full tilt and 28% PLUS bonus at Absolute (and 35% now at UB) at the BASE level (ie. bronze level equivalent). What also is very frustrating is that 6max players are getting less than half the equivalent FPPs of full ring players. This is due to the fact that they are paying higher MGR per hand, yet getting FPPs based solely on the pot size (FYI, you get 1 FPP if the rake reaches $1, and an additional FPP if the rake reaches $3).

Lee Jones - if you read this - please do something to improve the FPP program's competitiveness with the other sites. It is simply inadequate. And please compensate 6max players proportionately with Full Ring players.

Lee has some great books for noobs. If anyone plays at Pokerstars they just don't know what rakeback means. It is completely beyond me why they have as many cash games as they do.

Is it really that difficult to get a system in place where FPP's earned are at the equivalent rate of MGR?

there needs to be fpps based on mgr...
they can do it for sngs so why not for cash games

if ps doesnt change this i might just take my 10k+ mgr every month and bring it to full tilt

same here. even in SNGs they don't compare to other sites as far as rakeback. All they have to do is change this and they would completly own the market imo.

Anyone do the numbers for 2/4 and 3/6? Im guessing the disparity becomes less as you move up?

This time last week it was a total love-fest for PokerStars. Now they suck.

Poker players are a fickle bunch.
