Books on Mentality
I was just wondering if anyone could recommend any great books on the mentality of a winning player. There are literally TONS of books on hand rankings, what to do/not to do, HoH, Little Green Book, etc. Any great books on the mindframe of a poker player or professional gambler? Addressing things such as the break from the "real world jobs," how to know if it's for you, and anything else. Thanks in advance.

Re: Books on Mentality
'Inside the Gambler's Mind' By David Spanier.
It's an older book but still very relevant. |

Re: Books on Mentality
Casino Gambling for Winners by Lyle Stewart gets into the mindset of playing to win and lays down some good rules to maintain a winning attitude. Unfortunately it also promoted playing craps and baccarat.

Re: Books on Mentality
Larry Phillips' "Zen and the Art of Poker" has some good advice about tilt and self-control, but the poker content itself is questionable.

[ QUOTE ] I thought "The Poker Mindset" was very good. Doc [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] I could not agree more. Mindset and Ace on the River have helped my game more than I ever thought possible. If you're going to play a sport you need your body in tip top shape. If your going to play poker your mind needs to be in Tip Top shape. GS |
