Quick Question; If you are the villain, and you have KQ, are you betting the river if you are checked to?

[/ QUOTE ]

Probably not, but maybe. It's super thin if you think about it, whereas if OP(me) bets with his AQ, who knows, maybe TT will call sometimes. I should perhaps mention that I have an ugly history of trying to filthy with little success.

Just to be clear, I was referring specifically to the post quoted. I think you are a very good player, and while I'd usually take a different tack than you did, I have no problem with your play and would have made the same reluctant fold on the river at that point.

The quoted poster saying c/c'ing is unreasonable is among the stupider things I have read today, and I have read the ENTIRE Vanessa Rousso drama bomb thread in NVG.

[censored] seriously, Daliman, thought you played at least higher than 1/2nl.

"c/c the river because QK will bet it".

bet the fking river..... QK will definitely call as will a much lighter range than will bet it.

this is like basic theory, come on.

you basically induced the shove by playing your hand weird. he probably expects you to 3-bet AQ prelfop, and possibly not c/r KQ on the flop. so your range should be pretty weak overall, and AQ is at the very top of it. im very happy betting and calling a shove

While I agree with most of what you have said, AQ here is pretty far from both nuts AND air, and I personally don't think it looks anything like either. If you're going to fold here though, I like a check/call much better.

"Either nuts or air" is the new "I put you on AK"

[/ QUOTE ]

You're right AQ isn't nuts or air. but a cr on that flop looks like 22/66 or a bluff most of the time.thats why i said "looks like" nuts or air. IMO this is what he's getting read for. Thats why I'd call.

I talk myself into thinking he can shove slightly worse for value, and bluff a very small %. Not sure how accurate this is.

But if he had any showdown value at all he would just call the river, which means if he is stone bluffing here he has air on the flop. I'm pretty sure you already understand this, but it doesn't make sense to me why you still want to call.
