Default Let\'s go to the tape! 30 minute game delay at RR

Yesterday, while folding every hand in a 4/8 game, a guy hit runner-runner Floosh Royale. You know how they stop an NFL game while the ref goes under the hood? They got nothing on the Red Rock.

The game was shut down for 30 minutes while they had security look at the tapes to verify the hand. 30 freakin' minutes! A good game was destroyed.

I was told this is the policy of the room now. When I asked who was the moron who thought this was a good idea--for a $500 payout, no less--I was told it was the room manager and he was off, but I could get his card. With that, the floor turned his back on me and walked away. Nice form.

So, here's a little advice to those of you who play at the Red Rock. If there is a jackpot hand shown down at your table, rack 'em up and find another game. Yours is going down the toilet.

And, the winner of the Stupid Room Policies of the Year goes to Red Rock Casino. Nits aren't just sitting at the table anymore!

Even if they need to check the tape before paying out the jackpot, why should that involve shutting down the game in the meantime? Even if they think the payout is big enough for this level of concern about game integrity, I don't understand the point of this execution.

This is one of many very stupid rules at RR poker room. The floor that I met was incompetent IMHO and the rulings were atrocious. Its as if they are an island in the desert on their own. I spoke to someone at Green Valley about this, he told me they hear it all the time how RR is out there on a limb with their rulings and policies.

I think this may be the policy of all the Station Casinos. I was playing the 4/8 game at Palace Station and someone hit a straight flush or royal and they shut the game down for a similar amount of time to make a $100 payoff. It was absolutely insane.

Stations is starting to really suck. They used to have all kinds of deals. No more. I really liked the $2.99 cheeseburger and fries in the Grille, just off the poker room. Lunch for two last night was $15.

They are doing all kinds of drawings and stuff. And now the high hand jackpots. It's bringing in the nits, but who wants them?

Guess I won't be going anywhere but the Strip anymore. I thought shutting down the game was moronic. Great game, too, with lots of people doing lots of gambooling. After this, the game was left with nothing but tight nits who were waiting for the six o'clock drawing.

I didn't win anything there, either.

Not sure if he still works there or not, but I'm sure most of you know Gordy, he used to be a floor there, and also I think used to work at Texas Station.

A few months back, I was playing 2/5 at RR, I was in the 2 seat, and it was my button. I picked up some trash like QJ, and figured if there were only a few limpers to me I'd make it $15 or so. Well it turns out the 8 seat limped, and then the 9 seat limped- but when the 9 seat threw his chip in, it landed right next to seat 8's limped chip. Dealer doesn't realize, and tells seat 1 it's $10. Seat 1 "calls" the $10, and I didn't realize myself that it was technically only $5, but I wan't about to reraise, so without saying anything I threw in 2 redbirds. Seat 3 then asks if it's $5 or $10, dealer realizes what happened, and pushes $5 back to seat 1, and $5 back to me. I stop the dealer, and tell him that I either want to keep it $10, or to let me act on my hand. Floor gets called, and it's Gordy. Gordy rules that the action from seats 8 and 9 is just a call (correct), but that my only action is that I MUST call the $5 (incorrect). I explain to him since he stopped the action on the 9 seat, where does the action resume? I must have a chance to act on my hand, whether it be call $5, call $10 (which I thought the amount was), or be able to raise (since the bet wasn't $10 as originally declared by the dealer). But Gordy, even being in this business for quite a few years at the very least, and also being a player, wanted to hear no part of it. So I sucked it up, limped for $5, then racked up and left.

Not sure if he's still there or not, but if someone knowledgable like Tim was on the floor, I would have never been denied action on my button. This time I cant act on my button, what next time? A pair of aces beats a flush? Ridiculous.

Just another reason why Red Rock sucks ass and I'll never play there again, even though most players there are morons.

Same thing happened months ago at Bally's, except it was for quads. The jackpot was under $200, less than the player won in the pot.

I couldn't tell you how long it took. I left after 20 minutes.

I don't understand stopping the game at all. The only time I've hit a high hand jackpot, it was with quad 3's at the Golden Nugget. The manager came over, verified my hand, and we played on while the manager did some paperwork and brought me the $275 a few minutes later.
I can't imagine the point of stopping the game.

High hands used to take 15 minutes at Bally's a while back. Last time I played there and someone hit one, I figured "oh no, another long delay" and I headed to the restroom. They were already playing by the time I got back (and the high hand winner had given $5 to everybody at the table...except me since I wasn't at the table when he got his $300). Haven't played there since shortly before the $5 rake started.

In my room we call surveillance they verify the hand it takes no time.

What I suspect happened here, was the floor person was doing something else when the Jackpot hit. Instead of calling surveillance immediately the Floor poerson got involved in something else and forgot about the high hand.
