Why donīt poker sites offer memberships? (And rakefree play)
I wonder why the poker sites donīt also offer the opportunity of paying a monthly fee, instead of paying rake.
Technically it would be very simple. The player is paying for a membership, and at the end of every month all rake payed is transfered back to the account. Thatīs the number one guiding-star for all marketers - commit the customers over time by memberships, to prevent them from going to the competitors. Everywhere, but in the poker world. Thatīs a mystery. |

lol they are rich and they dont want to make less. And most of the fish dont even know what is rake so they will just stop playing if they have to pay a monthly fee.

If its mandatory the site goes broke if its optional the site loses money.

OP, search "Zerokrake". You will see how well that model works.

[/ QUOTE ] WSEX was much more successful then Zerorake was. Zerorake charged a membership fee (or tried to) and is the model I think the OP was asking about. |

Re: Why donīt poker sites offer memberships? (And rakefree play)
Of course I know the answer to the question. The rake is so extremely high, it is impossible to charge a montly cost that would still make the sites the same profit.
The rake system has just one purpose to charge enormous sums of money from the players, without them knowing it. Party poker could reduce the rake to 1%, and they would still make enormous profits. |
