Re: AKs w donkbet
Grunch
I prefer just to raise flop unless he does this with air, and even then I'd raise the flop more than call. But, it's perfectly fine to do so. Just call the 3bet on river IMO. I think any kind of Kx does the same, you only are concered with sets and A3. |

[ QUOTE ]
river raise is so so so so so bad [/ QUOTE ] i so so so so so agree, but im loosing so often to K5o and similar hands lately, and hemorrhaging money in these big pots, that this was more of " im sick of it" cap. i guess its solely reading time for me for a weak!! |

I would raise flop when I have the equity. Your equity is huge here, give you have top pair, top kicker, and he's an aggro, so he could be far behind. Flop Capping might be good here too if he re-raises you. If he donks the turn, I'll call. But once I hit K trips on the river, I'm going to cap the river. |

Re: AKs w donkbet
I'd probably just call down from turn raise. It's starting to look icky for us here.

Re: AKs w donkbet
After you get 3 bet on the turn, I think it is a call down at best, just in case he is overplaying KQ or similar. Your raise told villain that you probably had AK or better, and he didn't care. Sounds like he has a set or a straight. The King on the river doesn't really change anything. What are you now ahead of that you were behind on the turn?

Re: AKs w donkbet
* grunchio *
I'd raise the flop because of the potential FD there. As you did not raise the flop, the possibly aggressive Villain could be betting a K w/KJ/KQ/AK here. That flop misses a big part of a typical 3-betting range. I think you can discount 22/44/55 and A3 enough for your line to be ok. Maybe I would skip the river cap and give him that much credit. |
