Default $60 - another AJ this time vs. scary minreraise

PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t100 (8 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com

UTG (t3465)
UTG+1 (t1435)
Hero (t1485)
MP2 (t1430)
CO (t2040)
Button (t1375)
SB (t1625)
BB (t645)

Preflop: Hero is in MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
<font color="gray">UTG folds</font>, <font color="gray">UTG+1 folds</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises to t300</font>, <font color="gray">MP2 folds</font>, <font color="red">CO raises to t500</font>, <font color="gray">Button folds</font>, <font color="gray">SB folds</font>, <font color="gray">BB folds</font>, Hero?

Villian is Apple Jay, an unkown to me playing on a few of my tables. If I call this I pretty much have to go broke on an A or J high flop. I would call sometimes with like AQ because I think it's exploitable not to. I see garbage on these min reraises a lot. But you also see AA/KK a ton of course.

AJ and my stack make calling here sucky IMO. Thoughts?

I think you have to call for table image purposes if nothing else. You can't become known as a guy who raises and then folds to a min reraise while getting almost 5 to 1 on your call, or I think people will start playing back at you with air. I'd stick the 200 in and hope to get lucky (or at least not get unlucky).

I don't think you can call this without a better read. I've been much happier since I've stopped calling bets like this.

Yeah I'm calling here for table image as well and that's the only reason. The biggest problem here is you'll be playing out of position against an unknown player and your pot size control is out the window cause it's so huge already. Pretty much in no mans land of where you are in the hand no matter what hits.

I'm pretty sure I was in this SnG and I was VERY interested to see what you folded, especially because AppleJay had shown down some really crappy hands earlier, right? I'm reshoving AK and AQ, I think, against AppleJay. Not sure about AJ.

Open fold preflop or raise less. Fold to the three bet.

I'm never open folding AJ at level 4 from MP. That's just silly. I make it 250 from EP or LP a lot. But I tend to prefer 300 from MP where I have a pretty good chance of just taking the blinds and don't want to encourage callers. But I dunno, maybe 250 is better here.

The thing is you aren't really in MP there are 5 people to act behind you and if your planning on calling shoves you should just open shove.

I agree with Pudge, if were planning on calling the shove then open shoving is better as we get more hands to fold.
