What % of online players will actually buy this book, and even more important, what % will actually read it?

Donkeys cant apply concepts, no need to worry.

that's what the limit players thought a few years ago

oh well

You're forgetting something. Limit hold'em is a much more mechanical game - for example, SSHE is basically example hands with explanations on how to correctly play the hand and why. NL is so much more read and feel dependant + it is much more suited to a gambler's needs than limit. Most of the gambling population (donks) are unable to even apply the straightforward advice and rather easy to apply concepts taught in SSHE, so as for learning to apply NL concepts I think they're pretty close to hopeless. Also, their gambling tendencies and proneness to tilt and costly mistakes is much greater in LHE than NL.

I look forward to the book.

By Online specific I mean that there are alot of moves i'd make live that I would never make online and vice versa.

Online is like limit in the way that it is a lot more mechanical than live, i'd find it very hard live to c-bet as much as I do online, obv my dressing gown pant combo gives me the confidence to hit return :P

Matt, thanks for the update.

My curiosity centers around whether this book will cover an area that NLHET&P started... even mentioned that they (the authors) were considering the section as an introductory.

Manipulating Your Opponents pg 231 ... " This section is by no means a complete exposure to the topic. Indeed one could easily write ten times this amount on the topic and still not cover every technique....."

We're going to discuss those kinds of online vs live play issues in a chapter in volume 2. It's about half written if memory serves.

Matt,

There's a pretty good chance you know all this, but nevertheless, regarding the hyphenation of no limit:

You should only hyphenate it when it when it's being used as a phrasal adjective. So, for example, "no-limit texas hold 'em", but "there is no limit to how much money I can make pwning noobs on the interweb."

I hate when people screw stuff like this up, but I'm a giant grammar nit, so what can you do.

A mentor (in business not poker) told me many years ago to never stop seeking knowledge. If you continue to learn than anyone who is presently below you in terms of knowledge/ability will never catch up with or surpass you. You can also help out those less experienced without fear of having one of them take your spot in the pecking order. I think this bit of wisdom can be applied here as well.

Matt --- All apologies for the slight hijack.
