Re: Barry\'s blog about the PPA conference
IMO only IP sanctions for Antiqua will move Congress. The music and entertainment industry, huge contributors to Dems, will pressure the DEMs to comply so IP sanctions go away.
However, IMO odds of such sanctions being granted are only 50% and 50% chance that WTO wimps out and becomes irrelevant like UN and most international entities. |

Re: Barry\'s blog about the PPA conference
"full Congressional meeting about online poker", sounds good .... if a somewhat farfetched notion of the actual legislative process.

But I doubt that right now, with GWB in the Whitehouse, anything good for us will get past him. [/ QUOTE ] Why? Even the Texas legislature came pretty close to passing a live poker bill this year. If some actual conservative Texan legislators can see that poker ain't all bad, why can't a faux-conservative Texan President? |

Re: Barry\'s blog about the PPA conference
GWB has run with the anti-gambling crowd for along time. Proof can be found recently in the positions taken by the US trade rep to the WTO who has done everything possible (and costly) to try and maintain the US anti-online gambling laws. More proof is found in the actions of the Bush DOJ.
Id like to be wrong here, but I see no evidence of it. Skallagrim |

And should we have a phone bomb ready to go on the 5th? At the least we should be appraised of what happens. Is the Senate in on this? House [censored] is virtually [censored] meaningless. |

[ QUOTE ]
you really couldn't pick a better spokesperson to represent professional poker players [/ QUOTE ] Barry said on PokerRoad radio that it's 90% likely Annie Duke will be testifying rather than him. She can be extremely articulate. Barry said she and Vanessa Rousso were the best talkers amongst the poker pros attending the PPA conference. |

Anyway they are all good shows with Barry on most of them -- can't hurt to have Barry talking poker to you for the better part of an hour Though unfortunately he was just filling in for his son and is not scheduled to do any more shows |
