Default SSI and Razz

Hello to everyone.

Just a curiosity. I would like to have your opinion about the few pages written by Joey Hawthorne on Razz in the Lowball chapter of Brunson's SSI.
Are they still good?

Thank you.

I read them some time ago. I did not find them particularly useful or informative, but I'd already played 20k-30k hands of razz and read Sklansky on Razz, so...

I guess I'd consider it a good thing to read if you're in the middle of a razz tournament. An hour before a razz tournament I'd still recommend Sklansky on Razz.

The Razz section wasn't written by Joey Hawthorne.

All the chapters in SSI were written by Brunson except for the Draw Poker chapter - Brunson CONSULTED with Hawthorne (and Caro) when writing the Lowball chapter (this is even mentioned pretty explicitly in the Draw Poker chapter).

Maybe I don't understand.
Do you mean that Chip Reese did not write the famous chapter about 7CS?
Or that Bobby Baldwind did not write the LHE chapter?

I really don't think so...

Mike Caro wrote the draw poker chapter. Other than that Doyle wrote all of the other chapters, with help from Chip Reese, Bobby Baldwin, etc. Doyle writes this in the intro to the book. All of the chapters read the same except for the draw poker chapter. Pretty clear Doyle wrote everyting besides the chapter Mike Caro wrote.

I think SSI razz chapter is great for absolute beginners, i always kind of thought that it was the kind of "consulting" where they did all the work, D.S. did the stud hi/lo chapter someone should ask him
