I don't like shortstacking but I think the arguments from ethics are kind of silly; but I think the 20-100 BB buyin range is silly too.

The best ethical argument I've heard against shortstacking is that sites have so many tables nowadays that you're effectively ratholing, because you just get up whenever you double, and you still have six tables or whatever.

A lot of the invective in this thread is dumb.

I'd like to see 50BB minimums. But then I wouldn't mind uncapped games either.

let's keep the 'DIE shortstacker' comments to general stuff and not specific 'SHORTSTACKER NAMED XX, I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE AND WILL DIG OUT YOUR HEART WITH A SPOON'

thx

Well I guess when I go broke I'll just go back to SNGs lol!

Good luck suckers, my money and my inferior 'poker' abilities will be waiting at the tables.

FWIW, there are maybe 5-6 winning shortstacks at 5/10+. Almost everyone in this thread has no idea what they're talking about and is either regurgitating crap they've read elsewhere or making it up themselves with no real basis.

Everyone is still arguing about the wrong things.

As I said before, if someone can provide a detailed, step by step, rational explanation contrasting any other area in internet poker where someone attempts to employ an optimal strategy in poker versus buying in for the minimum amount, then that'd be great.

Obv, though, no one will and will continue in heated discussions about irrelevant factors.

For those who think shortstacking is unethical because it ruins the fun of the game: do you also believe pushing allin with <10BBs and being hyperaggressive on the bubble in SNGs is unethical? TONS of people complained it ruined the fun/spirit of the game when it was first being employed widely.
