Staking people in the WSOP or other large events
I have no idea where to post this, hopefully this is OK.
I don't understand the logic behind this. It seems a lot of people are making money from it but honestly most decent hold'em players are making $10K per month and should easily be able to afford just about any tournament. Are the players in the Main Event and surrounding events that people can win that need to be staked $1-$10K?. |

Re: Staking people in the WSOP or other large events
Some guys have to deal with a girl in their life that has a vested interest in their financial standings but doesn't quite understand/approve of the variance involved in these tournaments. Another issue is that for most people, going out to Vegas to play in the series requires a lot. A lot of time, airfare, hotel fees, etc. I personally wouldn't have played in it, but Phil Gordon offered me 7k for half my winnings on top of stars offering 1k to wear a hat. I wouldn't have played in a 6358 person 10k tournament. But there is no way I can refuse the offer I got.

I would probably still be swapping/selling parts of myself if I were worth 1 million.
