You can also try The Deuces Cracked Converter which is relatively new and pretty easy.

First, I would have just called preflop from MP with 77 after 1 EP limper, on what I imagine was probably a loose table.

On the flop, you become heads up after the SB bets.

You dont know whether the SB has a better hand than you, such as top pair or is betting a draw.

If you decide to call down and have the worse hand it will cost you 2.5 big bets.

However if you raise the flop, call a 3-bet and fold the turn unimproved, it will only cost you 1.5 big bets.

So, I think that, yes I would prefer raising the flop to calling.

But if he is just called, does he then bet the turn?

Popping preflop is correct in my opinion -- with few in, I play my middle pairs like big ones; with many in I play them like small ones.

On the flop, you're up against four and haven't hit your set. You're getting 9:1 to catch your set, plus BDSD. The odds aren't good enough if you're behind, but there's still a good chance you're ahead. I think it's worth seeing a turn and going from there. Rest of the hand looks good.

I don't mind raising. You can use the raise, bet, check line, to get a cheap showdown. It's not super coordinated, so if we get 3bet, we can probably let go.
