This is a very bad river to call on btw.

I was folding a blank river fwiw.

I usually check turn, but I was experimenting with a new style that session.

So you're suggesting that the river queen allowed him to bluff more easily, increasing the chances of his float defence being carried through on the river?

personally, I like the marginal bet on the turn, it reminds me of whitelime's post on achieving deception (among other things) through playing aggressively with small hands with showdown value, ones that are typically played with pot control in mind. Although, it actually makes this hand more difficult to play because floating here may have presumably inspired a bluff from villian. I suppose used in this particular instance you need to be able to pick off the villians bluffs with confidence.

So does the queen of hearts increase the chances of a bluff, more so then the chance that he has now connected and is value betting?

I assume because you were folding a blank river, jman, that you believe the former?

...or is there some other reason you were calling a blank river that I'm completely overlooking?

looks ridiculous, turn just seems so weird/bad. I guess a queen of hearts came on the river so he never has a ten or 88, right? He cant even be value betting KK!

Im not worried about the flush. I put him on 3-3, 10-10 or air.

[/ QUOTE ]

So basically this guy sucks is what you're saying?

[/ QUOTE ]

No. Im saying that a good aggro player (generally) dont play flushdraws, overpairs or TPGK like this.

[/ QUOTE ]

of course, if he is really good and knows anyhting about jman maybe he would play them like so

why can't villan have 4,5 and C/R turn planning on shoving if he hit, or if any heart hit? or is that unreasonable?

-I can't figure out why I think your good here, but I do. yes, he might have the flush, but its just too obvious-unless he is on like 5th level thinking

I think this is 1010 or air almost every time, and agree that 33 =AA unless he has a really good read on Jman.

i think i could fold the river.. he needs absolute air (not even semibluff) to call this, i dont think he has that the needed ~30% of the time. turn call seems good.

My initial reaction when first reading this hand, was that it reminded me of "celebrity poker showdown". But in a very sick way, I love it. I admit, I am not a great player, and would never be capable of this kind of wanton hate for money. But if your reads are correct on the villain, then you are my idol and I'll be railing your tables from now on
