I think Villain could be trying to float you. By betting again you are representing JJ+.
On the flop you represent AT+,JJ+. I was the button who raised Preflop. He mustn`t be that strong. Perhaps he had a PP perhaps sth like kj or AT. All that he must fold to another bet.

We have ace high and cant even beat most of his bluffs. A call here is terrible and if you called and somehow he had a worse ace the call is still terrible.
