Default 200PS: 99 in blind battle

I've been at the table for some orbits, and I actually has raised every time it's folded to me in the SB, it's been something like 4-5 times out of total 6-7 orbits, so I should have a crazy SB-image. I've taken down all the pots, PF or with a CB.

Poker Stars
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $1/$2
6 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $218
UTG+1: $33.45
CO: $197.80
Button: $505.75
Hero: $201
BB: $365.75

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
4 folds, Hero raises to $8, BB raises to $24, Hero calls.

Flop: (2 players) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Hero checks, BB bets 38$, Hero ???

Range of quite nitty player in this situation (ie. u should fold pf)

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 50.791% 50.79% 00.00% 235323 0.00 { TT+, AJs+, AJo+ }
Hand 1: 49.209% 49.21% 00.00% 227997 0.00 { 99 }

So if player was a normal tag i would call and push on safe turn

I gotta agree this is a must call, in fact I think its a raise. With AA you'd probably check to let him bet and you'd come over the top. We want to give off big pair vibe so that he gets rid of those overcards or checks down for us.

How is his play? Which one is scarier to him, the PF call/bet or the PF call/check-call? You want to give off that "I've made a crazy awesome hand" vibe. I might Reraise this flop because having checked to the PFR you've just demanded he bet at you. If you threebet here and he called/raised I'd be done barring a 9 coming down somewhere.

You should have expected a bet here. Knowing that to get information you either lead (given your wild image he'd probably come over the top regardless) or you come over the top. I think you have to raise him(no minraises he won't be fooled).

SkyyCaptain, I kind of agree with your thinking, but remember this: If you're gonna raise this flop, you probably have to pump it to 110-120ish. With already 24$ in PF, I think this is a costly line to raise/fold, also, youre getting great odds if he pushes, so if he could do that with AK/air a small % of the time, I think it's a call.

c/n: I think it's bad to raise/fold 70% of your stack with an overpair here...

what about betting pot 35ish and folding to raise... this is clearly better in case youre calling such a costly bet from him (also i dont think he does this with overcards...) because if you just call here you dont know where you stand and youre OOP! if you just bet and he raises, thats a clear fold imo then because he reraised you twice (ppl raising that flop with overcards are nonexisting probably)...

comments please...

Would you do this with QQ+? I think this line screams JJ-, and I think a lot of people will raise that bet with overcards sometimes. Also, youre giving up some money by not letting him CBet.
