Ali would [censored] all over Mike. Mike fought way weaker opponents overall than Ali.

Who wins and why?

Dude, in his prime Tyson got knocked out by Buster Douglas.
End of discussion.

Ali and it's not close. Tyson fought who in his prime? Spinks 8 years out of his.

Tyson is not even in the top 20 of greatest heavyweights of all time.

Agreed. Things may have been different if Cus D'Amato didn't die. Then again, Ali didn't fight in his physical prime...

if it goes longer than 3 rounds, Ali.

if Ali comes out lazy and leaves himself open for an uppercut at any point during the first 3, Tyson.

Can somebody post a "Tale of the Tape" for these guys around their primes? Height, weight, reach, etc.

I kind of want to take Tyson, but I worry that he is just not big enough to handle Ali. Both Ali and Tyson were very difficult to hit b/c they were so great at dodging punches. However, Tyson seemed to usually duck punches, leaving himself in a great crouching position for a powerful counterpunch exploding upwards and using his legs to generate more power. Ali seemed to lean his head and chest back away from punches, leaving him in a less-offensive position.

That said, Ali might just be too big for Tyson to take down. Maybe Ali stands in and takes Tyson's punches for a few rounds. Neither was great in later rounds, but Ali was probably better. In a long fight, it's definitely Ali.

EDIT
Data from the fight in which each won the HWT title for the first time:
Ali 6'3", 210lbs and reach of 82"
Tyson 5'11" 218lbs and reach of 71"

I'll take Ali mainly on the reach advantage.

OK, well maybe around 15th. All of the following (no particular order) were as good or better.

Ali
Holmes
Louis
Marciano
Frazier
Foreman
Dempsey
Johnson
Lewis
Norton
Holyfield
Jeffries
Tunney
Sullivan

Cassius Clay AKA Muhammmad Ali and it isnt even close.
Reason why??

Ali would do everything possible to get inside Tysons fragile psyche.

Ali had superior footwork. Tyson would stalk Ali and miss leaving him open to Ali's counter punching. Ali had an iron jaw, Tyson never had anyone hit him hard.
Tyson relied on intimidation, Ali would not allow himself to get intimidated.

Foreman would have destroyed Tyson as well.

End of debate.
