I had this happen when I was buying traveler's checks (a LONG time ago). Anyway the clerk was a real B itch when I was trying to tell her that she gave me 2 $500 batches instead of one. So I walked out with them and went home. Well, about an hour later she calls and was REALLY NICE asking if I could come back and fix the mistake. I went back --- but I made her sweat it out for a few hours more. But in this instance I'd be keeping the IPOD. Their mistake and the fact that it's a big business would make me not send it back. I would think the employee is either already in trouble whether you send it back or not --- or he's just trying to shame you into sending it back.

I imagine if they showed it was his fault then sure it is. I work for a concrete company and I've heard of drivers getting their load too wet and having to pay for the load.

This is so obvisouly easy there shouldn't even be a question about it. By sending it back you get perma-boomswitched by keeping it you get perma-doomswitched. The choice is yours but they have the higher ground. DURRRR.
