Re: iPhone
I might actually pay $500 for this. It's going to be exclusive to Cingular, can anyone say if that's a good or bad thing?

Re: iPhone
they didn't announce a widescreen ipod, correct? just that the iphone will have itunes built in and function just like an ipod (albeit w/8GB memory).

[/ QUOTE ] Turnip - just thought I heard on CNBC that AAPL announced wireless, widescreen Ipod. Googling doesn't show official announcement, but I think this product has been in the works for a while over there. They filed for a proximity sensor patent in June, and I always thought it was for both the widescreen Ipod and Iphone. -Al |

Re: iPhone
LFS,
"It's going to be exclusive to Cingular, can anyone say if that's a good or bad thing?" I've been on Cingular for a while now and coverage has been great in SF, NYC, and Houston. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Touchscreen? No thanks. KJS [/ QUOTE ] Whats wrong with touchscreen? [/ QUOTE ] Nothing is wrong with it. You also won't actually touch the screen due to the embedded proximity sensor technology, and apparently, it will ignore unintended touches. -Al [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] 3.5-inch wide touchscreen display with multi-touch support and a proximity sensor to turn off the sensor when it's close to your face [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] BT - oh maybe I misunderstood the touch screen patent they were going for. I always assumed that they were using the same technology in their widescreen Ipod - which of course, if you actually touch the screen is retarded. Can anyone confirm / deny / explain the multi-touch / proximity sensor technology in this thing? LFS - I've been on Cingular for a while in LA, it's good. -Al |
