Re: Ivey another final table
this is his 4th this year so if he wins a nice 25% rate is not bad, he doesnt care for tournaments because of side games like he used to he said yesterday, does not think there as profitable

Re: Ivey another final table
This guy is to good, and his tournament results are hard to compare with those of Ungar, in his time there were about 3 people in every $10.000 tournament, no wonder he won a bigger %.

Re: Ivey another final table
you guys are all overestimating iveys roi, there's no way he wins 30% of the tourneys he enters. he plays very weak-tight. any decent player will be able to run him over easily. everyone has a good string of variance over the course of a ten year period. I'd say that ivey would be lucky to win 20% of every tournament he enters, he probably only wins 15%.

Re: Ivey another final table
20% is prob right. i can easily see him winning 1 out of 5 he enters

Re: Ivey another final table
Sure, a normal player of phil ivey's skill only wins 20% of his tournaments. But since he is phil ivey, other plays around him play worse so he gets another 10% in winning value.
You understand at a typical table with phil ivey, 3-4 of the 9 people are just trying to dump their chips to ivey so they can tell their friends they lost to him. |
