Re: I know nothing about Omaha 8...
That proposed sticky thread would come in handy for questions like this.
And ceegee, I hate to be the one to tell you, but you're clearly too lazy for O8 greatness, based on the vague generality of your question*...for me to poop on! (*'I Keed, I keed' - Triumph the Insult Comic Dog) |

Re: I know nothing about Omaha 8...
The sticky did not help, which is why I posted this. It does not say anything about playing Omaha hi first or where to start if I haven't played either. It also does not suggest books because they don't want to promote certain company books.
Which again is why I posted this. |

That proposed sticky thread would come in handy for questions like this. [/ QUOTE ]Hi Frank - Yes. It will, and we will have an addition to the sticky. I promise. I have not forgotten. It's just on temporary hold because we're switching over to a different software system in less than two weeks. And hopefully Felicia will be coming back soon, and I certainly want her input. She's our moderator in chief. I'm mainly just holding down the fort for her while she's recuperating. Buzz |

Re: I know nothing about Omaha 8...
www.playwinningpoker.com has some decent articles about omaha 8, this was what I first read when switching from NLHE, and Mike Cappelatti's book "How to play winning Omaha high low" was really helpful for me too. Best thing I reckon would be to read around to pick up a basic strategy for the game and play at a stake that you feel comfortable losing at (I played 1/2c and 2/4c on VCpoker) and you will begin to learn about the concepts of the game. The day I first got quartered on the 2cent games changed my whole PLO8 game.
