pennington didnt play bad aside from that last throw, which looked to be miscommunication anyyway and wasnt necessarily his fault. i hope, but i doubt that clemens will be starting next week

wasn't miscommunication, typical jets 'hey we down letz go out route' and a smart CB jumps it. Bleh..

It's not that hard when you're the J-E-T-S.

Pennington played quite well today. Defence conceded 31 points at the end of the day

We can both agree that Pennington is known as a game manager, holding onto the ball and getting us the win, right?

Cincy held the ball for 34 minutes in the game. Most of those came in the 2nd half (I might be mistaken, but wasn't it 18 minutes the Bengals had the ball in the 2nd half?) Our defense was tired, and Pennington could not keep them off the field.

Excluding the last drive hail mary TD, the final four drives for the Jets.

3 and out
Fumble
3 and out
INT

Some game manager, huh?

Yes, he played excellent in the first half. But that was because that long pass to Coles. Once the defense got readjusted that he wouldn't throw one of those again, our routes got jumped and run got stuffed.

Pennington played well in the 1st half, I'll give him that. But he should have done that anyway, the Bengals have a defense that is worse than the Jets! I remember watching the highlights and an announcer said "Pennington with a deep bomb! And they say this guy has a weak arm..." Well any QB can throw deep and just let his WR run under it.

This year, every game-winning/tying drive in the 4th quarter, Chad has absolutely bombed and made terrible decisions. He is a horrible 2-minute drill QB, and we are losing to bad teams.

The Penningtologists can bring up accuracy, QB rating, etc., but Pennington has a higher QB rating than Elway and Marino, so how useless is that stat?

Pennington probably earned himself one more start with his 1st half performance, but he keeps playing like he did in the 2nd half today. We're 1-6, which means we have to run the table to make the playoffs. Let the Kellen Clemens era begin!

EDIT: Yeah I say this all the time but this team is frustrating, and I will continue to rant as long as
a) The Jets are losing games
b) Pennington is our QB

I really thought we were winning this one after the 1st half.

I love how you're all talking about Chad when:

1. Our run defense is HORRID
2. We got jobbed on a Revis pass interference that wasn't
3. Mangold botches a snap
4. Abram Elam made 2 beyond moronic plays-one a big penalty, the other a missed tackle in the backfield. Why is this guy playing over Eric Smith?
5. Ben Graham shanked a punt.

Chad is not the problem.
