How do you get closer to the expected probability outcome of an event? Why, by doing more trials, of course.

If I flip a coin twice and it comes up heads twice, then that's 100% heads and 0% tails, which is far from the 50% heads and 50% tails expected results.

If you flip the coin 4 times and it comes up heads three times and tails one time, that's 75/25, which is closer to 50/50 than 100/0.

The more times you run any one situation from the point of all-in, the closer you are going to get to the real EV of the hands.

Say it takes you 1000 hands to get in a certain all-in situation, such as AA vs KK preflop. If you run the board twice each time, it's like having to wait only 500 hands before each time that situation occurs. Therefore, it is repeated more often, resulting in values closer to true EV than if you had not.

I saw a similar hand happen at the Wynn last year in a $5/$10 game:

A bunch of people limp in. Flop comes 34Qr. A few people check to a guy in LP who bets ~50 or so into ~60. A caller somewhere, BB calls, guy in MP c/rs to $150ish. Folds to BB who calls.

Turn is an A, BB checks, MP bets $500 real fast, BB c/rs all in for like $2000 more.

MP Tanks forever and finally calls.

Literally the SECOND he said call, BB says "I have the nuts right now, but I know you have a set. Wanna run it twice?" As the guy is in the middle of agreeing to it, the dealer burns and turns a board pair. The guy with the set is all "Too late! Too late! I didn't agree yet!" Even though it was obvious to the table that he had.

BB is FLIPPING out at this angle shot, and calls the floor. The table confirms that the guy agreed to run it twice, but the floor decides that apparently it wasn't binding for whatever reason, and ships suckout artist the pot.

BB storms off amid a cloud of profanity. SA plays like one more orbit and leaves, before BB returns.
