There is a $.40 difference between where I live (Kent- $2.45) to where I work (Bellevue- ($2.85). I get very annoyed with myself when I forget to fill up near home.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yah i paid $2.80 the other day in bellevue. Every time i visit my parents in the kent area i hit the safeway there and fill up for waaaaay less.

[/ QUOTE ]

lol you are from Kent.

[/ QUOTE ]

I am now. No way in hell I could afford the house I bought in Bellevue...would have been 2x what I paid. I have become my worst nightmare! Hopefully the T-Birds will move to Kent to lessen the blow to my ego with readily available hockey.

Oil prices dropped below $55 a barrel Tuesday on expectations of more mild weather and rising inventories. Prices haven't closed below $55 in 18 months.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm, strange, I still seem to be paying much more then I did 18 months ago. Who wouldda thunk it?

$2.53 in Campbell, CA is about the cheapest I can find right now.

Granted, it takes some time for prices to go down following a crude drop (ironically enough, it takes zero time for them to go up with a crude increase).

[/ QUOTE ]

It is like $2.30 around here in Northern Virginia.

Prices are sticky downward. That isn't rocket science. (Just economics!)

I think its like $2.30 in phoenix. I'm not sure tho, I dont pay much attention. I have to buy it anyway, so whats the point in caring what it costs?

[/ QUOTE ]

gas is just a pet peeve of mine. if cable tv or cell phone service company profits where as high as the oil companies, there would be public hangings...but for some reason, big oil is allowed to get away with it.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is wrong. The profit margin ratio the oil companies see isn't anything extraordinary. They just deal in large quantities of cash so of course their profits will be high.

The pharmaceutical industry is where our outrage should be pointed towards if you want to talk about high profit margins.

Exactly what I was trying to get across earlier. And the average person has no idea what kind of effort is required to recover oil.
