Default Overpair vs donk bet

Last one for today. No real reads, but I remember vaguely that he was pretty loose preflop. So his calling range is more than AA-TT, AK. Call and shove turn? Or just get it in now?

call and shove the turn...he's making a feeler bet with his pocket pair probably, raising now tells him that it's beat.

At the table I would push

Looking back on it, I'm always annoyed that I don't calls and shove turn

definitely just call here. If you jam it now, even this guy mucks a lot of what you want him to continue with.

If you call here, maybe he convinces himself youre stubborn with AK and will fire a blank turn with his TT or 99.

agreed...he's making your AK and AQ look bad. Most loose guys would slowplay a monster here and I go with that as the default until I have a note to say otherwise.

He'll lead out at the turn, of course, and be committed when you push the turn...

Correct. I am playing for my stack on this flop. If this tricky bastard has AA, so be it.

However, I agree with lucky that he will fold a lot of hands he will commit himself with on the turn.

What do you do if the turn is A or K?

Regards,

ness

That's a pretty lame bet on his part. I'd get it in now, likely take it down, rather than give him a chance to hit his miracle. Playing the turn may get you another bet but it adds variance.

Yeah, I pushed. I still think it's not that wrong. A few turn cards could either make me hate my hand, or make him throw away his. I pushed and he folded.
