Default AJ TPTK vs. strange river c/r

This seems like a Baluga Theorem type hand, but it just played out so weird. I don't know what villain would c/r with on the river and not bet out considering I checked behind on the turn. I have no reads.

This is pretty far from Baluga theorem but still a fold. I can't imagine an unknown at 1/2 both having a good idea about your range and be smart enough to c/r.

Yeah baluga theorem would have a J on the flop and play out from there. I still fold here I think your looking only at hands that beat u and a tiny % of beatable hands.

He's not saying it's Baluga theorem, he's saying it similar to Baluga theorem in that he's been raised post flop.

As to the hand, I'm folding this without a good read, fish especially love going for the check raise.

Yeah I was just saying that a raise post flop usually indicates your TPTK is no good - which is similar to Baluga Theorem type thinking. What do you think villain's range is? I'd obviously call a bet if villain just bet out but I figured it was a missed draw or some underpair when he checked on the river. I guess J9 is the only hand here that really makes sense to me, but I'd still think that villain would bet out with a made hand so I didn't check behind.

J9/8T both come to mind here, but as with everyone else here, against an unknown a single pair hand here is very rarely good.
