Default Dumb question re: pokerstars RB % equivalent

I see these posts calculating the RB% equivalent at various levels in their VIP program.

most of this value comes from earning FPP's at a higher rate. but what do you do with these FPP's to translate into "rakeback"?

use the FPP's in their store? to buy into tournaments? or can you turn them right into cash somehow?

The rates are calculated using value of items in the store, which includes tournament buy-ins. The buy-ins tend to have significantly better value than the items themselves.

You can also just get cash funded to your account. Its only really worth it if you are platinum or nova. Not sure about Nova, but for platinum you can get $650 for 50000 Fpps. Its the equivalent to about 20-25% rakeback at $100NL FR.

I think it's lower. If you would have 20-25% rake back on stars and you would play 50K FPP's you would get arround $1000 in rakeback.

it's an item in the store.

it's 1.5 cents per FPP at SN and it's even less (1.3 cents perhaps?) at platinum.

It's not as simple as 'convert my points to cash' though.
It's like buying a giant reload bonus.
You have to earn X number of points AFTER you purchase the cash-for-points thing in the store.

Look around in the store and you'll find it.

http://www.pokerstars.com/fpp/store/special/

The $1k(SN) is 1.5; the $650 for Plat. is 1.3; Gold's $285 is 1.14 cents/fpp.

Twenty hot dogs would equal roughly a nickel, depending on the strength of the yen.

I never realised that. But I would assume that you earn those points and can spend them elsewhere right? Kind of annoying, but if you collect enough to get the relaod I'm sure you can clear it pretty quickly.
