He's probably betting his weak 1 pair (not ace or King), so do maximum extractimum =

Raise, fold to 3bet.

Raising the river would be horrible IMO.

How small would the pot need to be for you to fold?

This is way closer than the feedback indicates in my opinion. There are certain guys that just always have an Ace there and I can fold and sleep like a baby. Against an unknown I would call, but his hand looks a whole lot he has weak showdown value prior to the river and he shouldnt be donking that river with a small pair. That leaves him with a dreaded rivered pair of Aces very, very often.

You have to call here imo simply because there are so many hands in his range that either flopped or turned a straight draw: 24s, 25s, 45, 47, 57, 78, 79, 89, 9J, 9Q, JQ. Most of these hands are probably in this guys sb openraising range. Then on top of this, he could have flopped a flush draw -- this adds a lot of combinations because he is opening most suited hands from the sb (although there are a bunch of lags who would never play a flush draw this passively so we could discount these hands against such players). It isn't like the board is 227Kr. Villain knows that his hand looks a lot like Ax to you so it is not unlikely that he will bluff at this particular river getting the attractive price of 5:1. Then there is also the remote possibility that he has something like 22 or 43s and is bluffing despite having some showdown value.

I would probably call this river getting as little as 2:1 or 3:1. Getting 6:1 its an easy call imo.

Funky Llama

why do you think a 32/22/2 type player would raise from sb with hands like 24s, 25s, 47?

i dont think that all with, but I bet that at least a decent portion of those guys would -- so I would add those hands to his range but discount them some

Well hell yes I call. I also lose. Very very often.

I almost always call this, but in this situation I think that folding getting 6:1 is damned close to correct. If I wasn't such a lazy ass that I didn't keep track of situations like this (sorry, rory), I'll bet you that calling in situations like this against players like this, I'm winning barely 10-15% of the time. I mean, blind battles between aggressive players are very showdowny, and the "bluff the river when a scarecard hits" move isn't exactly unfamiliar to us all.

That said, I still call here all the the time, and probably will continue to do . . . bcs I suck!

Fine, you got me there . . . but I am absolutely the worst 2.5BB/100 20/40+30/60 player here, though, without question. I haven't had a session with a WTSD% less than 41% in about 100 years.

Awesome. In my last 50k I go to showdown 36% and win 34%.
