Default Cake Poker just doubled the price of everything in their store.

As you play you get Gold Coins and you can use the Gold Coins for tourney buyins or for items in their store.

The 80 gig ipod was 700 gold coins last week and I just looked and now it is 1400 gold coins.

I feel like I have been ripped off for half of my Gold Coins. The 80 gig was an attainable goal, it would take a while playing at my level and as a hobbyist but it was doable. Now it is way out of my reach, probably take me over a year.

I AM SO MAD TOO. I was at 250 and was either about to buy a shuffle or wait for the nano. So dumb, such a rip off. They had great deals and promos but as they get ppl they are turning into every other site slowly.

Is the store the same as sportsbook.com? Where the hell is it. I can't find it.

They had a message in the store part of the software for at least 10 days saying they would be doing this. I believe February 15th was the day the prices went up.

I feel like Arthur Dent in the biginning of HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The notice was posted where I wasn't likely to look. I only looked at the Ipod on occasion because I didn't have enough to buy it.

An email would have been nice, but that would let everyone know that gold coins lost value instead of just a few of us that were watching something.

Hey folks,

Back when we first launched, we let folks know in the early months that these prices were mearly the grand opening prices and subject to a decent increase in the future. The plan was to ramp them up in Dec 2006, but then our partner joined and we decided to let it roll on for a while longer at the opening prices.

It's never a popular move to raise prices but I'm thankful that the team let the promotion go on longer than planned. We had a LOT of shop orders in the last week, which is why the notice was posted so that players could redeem before they were upped.

Yeah...this suxxx. I just signed up last week and din't see the "memo" either! Terrible timing...IMO.... should be scrambling for all the players they can get! Under 500 players mid day EST. Like OP.. I also was playing towards an "extra" goal that now is unattainable at my level. Sooo off to tilt reload 4 me!
