I had played very TAG so far, and made the right plays, it had just became 3 handed a few hands ago. i felt since i was short stack it was worth the push. when he re-raised me, i figured i was commited, did i make the right play?

Your raise to 900 instead of a push just makes you look foolish...

A push means to go all-in. You raised over half your stack which is very bad. Push all-in right away.
