Hoegaarden
I firmly believe that Hoegaarden is far and away the best beer ever created. I'm not sure how popular or well known it is. One of my friends "introduced" me to it about a year ago. I had never heard of it until then. Most liquor stores don't seem to have it. The gap between Hoegaarden and my second favorite beer (not sure what that is) is enormous. I can't drink one without drinking about 4. Any other Hoegaarden lovers out there?
This pic causes me to drool like Homer Simpson. |

Re: Hoegaarden
Also a big fan, especially in the summer.
You need to find a better place to buy your beer. Hoegaarden is widely available. There are some Belgian white beers made by microbreweries in the U.S. that you might also want to try. Whirlwind by Victory in PA is very good, for example. |

Re: Hoegaarden
I don't like white beer. I like all other alcohol though. That is all.

It's the standard "summer-beer" where I live, it is advertised pretty big. My personal favourite beer is Hoegaerdse Das:

Re: Hoegaarden
Blue Moon is my favorite "Belgian" beer, but Hoegaarden is also pretty good. Also, Hoegaarden is very popular in the states and is relatively easy to find.

Re: Hoegaarden
I've been chatting up Hoegaarten in the 2+2 forum games for months. Blue Moon is the Budweiser of white ales (it's still pretty good for the money, though). I also highly recommend the Sam Adams white ale - very comperable to Hoegaarten, in both taste and price. At my local beer cooler, either one or the other (but never both) are on sale from week to week.
