Re: Could the average NFL fan make it to 20 carries in a game??
Assuming you don't just take a knee every down and you actually have to try to gain yardage, I believe 85% would fail, 15% would be able to do it.
Furthermore, I strongly believe I would be in that 15%. |

LH, Man, you know what would be sweet? If they had a show where they took like average Joes and had them compete vs. Pros in scenarios like this so you could see how weekend warrior athletes stacked up against professional athletes in sports challenges. That would be awesome. I should propose that to Spike network or something. [/ QUOTE ] Ok, I don't watch any TV, so I'll be the nit and ask. Is there a show like this, or am I wrongly detecting sarcasm |

I should have stated in the OP, no he can't run backwards or take a knee, lol.. For example, say the play calls for the runner to between the left tackle and left guard, he has to hit the hole hard..

Re: Could the average NFL fan make it to 20 carries in a game??
traz,
Yes, its called Pros v. Joes, and its on Spike. As an anecdote, a guy I worked with insisted that he could tackle Eddie George if they ran that drill where George had the ball, Coworker was ~5 yards away, and the cones are set up so the running lane is a couple yards wide. He was basically 100% sure that he would tackle Eddie George running straight at him. Coworker is also about 5' 6" and 140 pounds. We are just waiting to run into Eddie George around town so we can bring it up. |

if you have to try to gain yards, no, you'll get hurt really bad the first time any defender gets a clean shot at you, which given your speed/moves/agility/vision, will not take very long at all. I'm not sure you could do 5 carries in a row.

Jacked-up shows the hardest 10 hits of the NFL week for those who dont know.

I would sooner take 20 regular tackles/hits from random linebackers and defensive backs than 1 ridiculous hit, given the average JACKED-UP quality hit is concussion-worthy.

In High School a good running back can do extremely well in this drill against his high school teamates. Now imagine a pro-bowl RB vs a guy that is 7th grader size. If he did the drill 20 times Id say the guy might manage to trip George once. |
