30,000. Fold to a raise. If he calls, check on the next street U/I.

Without any reads, I like a push here. CO has about 70K left and there's almost 70K in the pot. There are a lot of hands that would call here (in a $3 tourney) that you're ahead of. The pot is pretty large, so I say just take it down now. Push.

Push the flop. You should be ahead or have outs. I reraise preflop with the plan to push any flop.

I don't like this line at all. Before the flop, there's about 70K in the pot and villain has about 70K left in his stack. If hero bets 30K on the flop and folds to a raise, he's making a HUGE mistake unless villain has AA or KK, and I gotta' think most players would've pushed pre-flop with those hands. If villain pushes after a 30K bet from hero, there will be about 170K in the pot and hero would only have to call 40K, so he's getting better than 4:1 as a 3:1 dog (or he's a favorite).

The stacks are much too short for this line.

Push the flop, reraise more preflop (a push isn't even really that bad considering if he calls a raise to 40k hes getting nasty odds on a push).

Yeah, you're right. I have a thing about not paying attention to stack sizes after PF betting. Push the flop.

thanks gang.

FWIW, I pushed the flop. He had 88, they held up... Out 3 hands later when I pushed 22 pre-flop against AJ - he spiked the A on the turn.

You're in the BB, and CO is short enough that you should push PF. It looks like a resteal and gets calls from AQ/AJ maybe even the occasional AT/KQ/Ax (against a weaker player). You're going to miss the flop 2/3 times, and when you push now the only hands that call are the ones that beat you (you lose AQ/AJ maybe AT that would call the PF push some % of the time).

You do pick up some folding equity on smaller pairs when an overcard (non A or K) flops, but I don't think it makes up for the equity loss when AQ/AJ folds on the flop.

As played, push the flop. You do have some folding equity against the small to medium pairs that fear AA/KK/QQ.
