25NL - difficult draw decision on the flop
Just joined the table, no reads.
Party Poker $25 NL 10 handed zeb is UTG+2 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB posts small blind BB posts big blind MP3 posts big blind Everyone fold to zeb who raises $1.25 ($24,85 left) SB calls ($20,3 left) Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Pot: $3 SB checks zeb bets $2.50 SB raises to $8,37 zeb does what? I have a lot of outs, although I don't know how many of them are real as he could have a set or A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. What do I do? |

Re: 25NL - difficult draw decision on the flop
i probaly check the river cause you have no pair and the 3rd nut flush on a bad flop. also i would fold to his re-raise. To get that much money in you want to have a made hand or be drawing to the nuts at least

Re: 25NL - difficult draw decision on the flop
So here's how I see the hand. I'm pretty sure even the biggest donks wouldn't check raise this flop without a fairly strong hand so you have no fold equity to a push and if you call you will almost certainly be facing a turn all-in. If he just has top pair and we have 15 outs on them then great, but I think his holding is most likely stronger than that and at worst we're drawing dead to the made nuts. It's the drawing dead part that worries me the most. I think if you had the A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I would say go with it, but otherwise I see nothing wrong with a fold here.

Re: 25NL - difficult draw decision on the flop
OK, here's what happened.
zeb calls $5.87 Turn: K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Pot: $19.74 SB goes all-in $11,93 zeb calls River: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Pot: $43.9 SB shows K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] zeb takes it down! [ QUOTE ] I'm pretty sure even the biggest donks wouldn't check raise this flop without a fairly strong hand [/ QUOTE ]Turns out you were wrong. tbh I have no idea what I was doing playing this to the end. Maybe you should trust more on your instincts? |

Was this a late Saturday night hand? Looks like you were up against a drunk gambler. NH.

I see you live in Sweden - know that the best time to play is often Friday and Saturday night when the dumb Americans play poker like this. The only trick is you do have to adjust your game appropriately. |

Re: 25NL - difficult draw decision on the flop
Fold to the flop CR. Don't be results oriented here. Folding the best hand (just A-hi and a non nut flush draw on a monotone board) is a small mistake in this still smallish pot. If you get it wrong, you've made a big mistake in a big pot.
