Default Bay101 mid-limit action during the tourney?

My regular home game is on hiatus this week, but I'd still like to play some cards. Anyone play at Bay101 last night in the evening? Kinda curious how bad the wait was for 20/40 and 40/80 (the latter more than the former). The wait for 40/80 generally sucks on a regular week night, so I wonder what game they're spreading during the tourney, and if they have more mid-limit tables open, etc. I don't mind waiting a bit for a seat, but I don't want to make it my life's work.

Also, is Garden City spreading anything bigger than 20/40 this week?

Thanks in advance...

They have a max number of tables per their agreement with San Jose. So usually what happens is as each tourney table breaks, they open up a cash game in the restaurant, and usually start with the big games and work down. So for at least mon/tues/wed, there will likely be huge waits. Actually probably all week. If you just want to play, go to GC, if you want to watch and maybe play a little, then maybe Bay101 will work.

The good thing about the higher limits is you can call your name in. The lists can sometimes be deceiving too. There might be 20 names on there but after an hour or two, most of them have left and they'll burn through 8 names at a time.

I've been there in the 20/40 and 40/80 the past two nights, and the games I've been in have been worse than usual. Lists aren't that bad, especially if you call in.

Thanks, guys. Unfortunately, it became moot, as our 2 year old got sick yesterday afternoon, so my poker night was cancelled. I may try again on Thursday.

I played for a bit last night in the 1/2 game. List was fairly long, but I called in so it wasn't too bad (about 1.5 hours). The lineup was the usual cast of characters. No tourney blood whatsoever, which is quite a change from previous years. The 20/40 game looked good, as usual, and the 40 game looked normal, but the list was LONG.

I also heard them calling names for 10-200 spread limit. I talked to Marko about it recently and this is new for the tourney (they may keep it around). I don't know what the blinds really are, the max buy in, or the rake, but I assume it's horrible. Even so, if people are anywhere nearly as bad as they are in the 5-200 game, you would be best off playing that. I may check it out tonight.

The 10-200 spread limit was 5-5-10 blinds 400min/1000max when I saw it on Saturday. Looked fun.

I also played the 1/2 last night and was kind of disappointed that there wasn't more action from the tourney. I played the 20/40 while waiting for the 1/2 and that was a great game at first but a couple key players left or busted and it ended up quite a bit worse than usual by the time I left. I was also surprised that there were only 2 40/80 games and 1 1/2 game going, not more than a typical weeknight.
