qj suited hand
Hi,
This is my first post, badly played, and I don't have a real hand history. So flame away. 25NL on pokerroom. SB seems tight after two or three orbits, hasn't played a hand beyond the flop. No read on the other two. 4folds, raise to 1.5 in late position, 1 fold, 1 call, Button folds, SB calls, I call in BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 $ in pot. flop Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] small blind bets 2$. My thought process is that this seems too low to have a Q and he is trying to buy another card with a flush draw. I raise to 5$, two folds, small blind calls. 16$ in pot. turn K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB checks, I bet 8 $. SB thinks for a long time and goes all in for 16 $. There is 40 $ in the pot with 8$ to me to call. Do I call? Can I put him on underbet KQ after this? Thinking back maybe I should have folded this preflop as I was out of position, or if I decided to play it raise him more on the flop and fold if reraised. But as played, I think I need 9 outs on the river to make this even money, which I can't imagine how I could have. Thanks for any input. |

Re: qj suited hand
no you fold. when they sit there and think for a while and then raise.. its a bad sign.
after thought: i just realized hes allin for only 8 more. yeah i make the call. He could have a weaker Q, FD, or a big hand. If your behind to JT your drawing to 3 outs, [censored]. But if your behind two pair you have 3 jacks, 3 kings, and maybe 3 9s. you may also be ahead though. |

Re: qj suited hand
You have to call in this situatin, just based on the pot odds agains the chances that you're ahead/have outs if you're behind.

Re: qj suited hand
You have some outs here, queens are clean, all 4 tens are clean, and villain could be behind farther than that.
If I come in at all, flop is a bigger bet, calling the turn as played. Cam |

Re: qj suited hand
Thanks for the replies. Is calling preflop too loose here though, without any reads?

Re: qj suited hand
With position QJs is all good. It's marginal OOP.
It's fold for me because of position and the pf action. Cam |

Re: qj suited hand
Raise on flop and bet on turn are both bad. (I probably call on flop, might consider folding.)

Don't min-raise. Don't tell me you did not min-raise.
