shortstack pushes in early position 10NL
Hi,
No hand history but this is more of a general case. I'm UTG+1 with a little more than the buyin ($11). Of the 8 people behind me, 5 have more or less $10 stacks, there's one $20. The table is passive in general but I'm not sure if it matters with so many left to act. UTG is a short stack who has been going back and forth between a $5 and $1 stack, playing pretty randomly, etc. Right now he has about $1.5. He pushes, and I have 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Always fold this? Thanks for replies. |

Sandwich effect.
I'd raise to $4 and get heads up with him. |

Re: shortstack pushes in early position 10NL
You're at least 50/50 against his range, but if someone else calls, you don't have the odds to play for set value.
Reraise it and get him HU with the blinds as dead money. |

Re: shortstack pushes in early position 10NL
Very easy fold guys. 15bb's from UTG+1 in full ring with 88. Too many players left to act who can wake up with a big hand. Plus, shortie may actually have a better pp now, or have two overs with which you'd be flipping. Easy fold. I'd probably go with TT here, but nothing lower, and maybe AK.

Ah - for some reason I was thinking it was 6BBs in NL25.
Yes - fold, and stick some more pins into your voodoo doll crafted from the melted chips of a shortstacking donkey. |
