Re: A common flop problem...
[ QUOTE ]
Advantages of check raising the flop. You are likely ahead and will get him to fold a 6-outer or a better hand. Look at his range of hands I posted above. He will likely release 66, AT to a flop cr, turn bet. He'll also fold all unpaired hands (without a flush draw) except AJ+ (Maybe KQ). If you check raise the flop, you have to feel comfortables folding to either a turn raise, or if he 3-bets the flop, fold to the turn continuation bet. This can be a drawback because some LAGs won't fold. I think these types are definitely in the minority. In general LAGs fold. [/ QUOTE ] I think you've probably been away from the lower limit games for very long. Noone ever folds a flop C-R at these games. A retarded LAG will not release AT or 66 etc very often and IMO there is a big category of LAGs that will raise the turn with a draw (for them our C-R doesn't mean strength but it means war). So the flop C-R / bet turn will be too expensive (7.33:4 odds) and it would be terrible to fold the best hand on a turn raise. |
