3 years/3+ million is the rumor for the 3 year extension to Dave Wannstedt. Hmm...

Only a slight raise over the $1 million he makes a year, and his contract now extended to five years. Seems pretty standard stuff if you're not going to fire him. It's merely a token vote of confidence to shut people up and calm the recruits. It reminds me of the extension Mike Shula got before his final year. Wanny is firmly on the hot seat next year.

I don't know how much stock I'd put into CFT.com, since its a new spawn off of PFT, but they are saying there is rumblings of Spurrier to LSU, has anyone heard similar talk?

It makes sense, especially with Pellini going to Nebraska most likely, and the problems Spurrier had with the academics/administration at SC.

I do know that Spurrier has wanted out of SC for a long while now. I think he'd be a big improvement over Miles over the next 5 years, but I'm not sure LSU wants to go looking for a coach again in a few years when Spurrier retires.

It's funny how it's always the fans of rival schools who know these things.

Ha! They already redirected the link to the story saying he's staying. You can't even trust ESPN on these coaching changes.

Well, we do have the "ya can't trade em'" comment from Spurrier.

Here's an updated link to Wannstedt's extension. Note who the new Pitt AD is.

http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/7512558

I'm speechless. So many goodies in that article, I don't know where to begin, although "Wannstedt has been criticized for some curious play-calling" is as good a place as any.

Mind-boggling, but as I'm a big Nebraska fan and also hate Pitt for ruining Utah's undefeated season by being such a worthless opponent in the Fiesta Bowl, I'm in full "lol" mode.
