Yeah, I don't like 'em much either, but I'm curious as to my line. Should I reasonably fear 33, 88, or T9? JT I felt was a real possibility, as well as any overpair to the board. Am I too optimistic? Too loose with a big stack? Or is this exactly what I want?

$1 preflop. Absolutely no reason to fold anywhere in this hand. Nh, more or less.

call on the flop is bad imo. You need to decide there whether you are ahead or not, then either push or fold. There aren't any draws so u r either way ahead or way behind.
Its not a full stack so i wouldn't worry too much about 33 or T9, A9, i think u will see TT-JJ, maybe even 77 here a lot of the time |

Raise more preflop and push this flop.

Nobody thinks Villain is fos here? If he's felting to a three-bet shove, I can't imagine that he's folding on any turn card short of an Ace or a King and if he is fos, he would feel those were good cards to bluff on.

[/ QUOTE ]Which is exactly why you don't 3 bet the flop. Stacks are going to be < 1 psb when you call. The only thing a push does is encourage a 55 type hand to fold or a bluff to stop bluffing. I like the way OP played it and I would play exactly the same. |

Hey chargers, I like your reasoning here and think you made a good point. Though I think the two lines recommended here achieve the same in case villain has a hand like TT or JJ, maybe even QQ, I really think it's a good line to mix up your play with AA in rather non scary spots like this one.

[/ QUOTE ]This would be the case if we knew that villains hand is likely to be TT/JJ. In this spot we don't and OPs line clearly extracts max value from villains range of hands while 3 betting doesn't. |
