Default $22 Flopped 2 pair

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (5 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

SB (t4700)
Hero (t1740)
UTG (t800)
MP (t2020)
Button (t4240)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls t100, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (t300) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks.

Turn: (t300) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB bets t200, Hero calls t200, UTG folds.

River: (t700) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets t300, Hero raises to t1440

Villain is a reasonable player, has been somewhat loose but hasn't made any outrageous plays. Should I have led out on the flop? I was thinking that the short stack would push to try to take it down.

Just playing randomly I see?

Lead the flop, there are draws and it's three handed. Raise the turn, you've under repped ur hand on the flop, cash in on it now.

River, wtf? it's going to be very difficult for him to call you with a worse hand. Just flat the river.

Bet every street pretty hard with the intention of shoving the river.

As played I just call the river.

yeah i agree w/ just calling river but if ur determined to slow play ur hand, def have to pull the trigger on the turn, entirely too many draws out there to play this slow until the river.

what the ?

bet and raise everywhere that you didnt starting at the flop and ending at the turn or river, whenever you can get it in, the idea being that you shouldnt have enough money by the river for folding to be an option.

Wtf?? do you mean in general or just this hand?

Anyway, I understand your reasoning for checking the flop in the hope that the small stack would take a shot at it. However, once he checked and the SB opened the betting on the turn you need a re-raise at that point.

As played, just call the river bet.

typically when im commenting on a specific hand all comments, unless indicated otherwise, will pertain to that hand.

yes, there are other hands in poker that you will have the option to fold the river on even if you play it well.
