Default IT department blocking Poker software. Anyway around this?

Hello.

I tried to play some poker at my work's CPU. First I installed Party Poker. Software installed fine. When I start PP it won't connect to server.

After that I installed Poker Stars. Worked fine for few days. Then "no connection".

Tried that "no download" PP beta. Window opens but lobby does not show up.

Is there anyway I can play internet poker at my work place?

If they are blocking it then thy obviously have a reason for it. I.e. their employees goofing off and wasting time while they're getting paid.

And no, you can't get around it. It's a policy set by your network administrator.

You could try bribing your network administrator. Otherwise, you may have to actually do what they're paying you for. Tough beat.

IT here and they will block the ports that the software use and if they are advanced enough they will also have software that tracks all the sites you go to and reports it to the boss.

Unless you are actually in IT, in which case you can get around anything.

Wow. I can't believe the answer to "How should I blatantly break explicit company policy?" is "Try bribing the admin."

If he doesn't accept your bribe, try punching him in the face.
