Re: NE is a superbowl lock.
While it doesn't make them a Super Bowl lock (and I'd be happy to negotiate a price for "undefeated"), I do like the move. A big reason is that Moss is given a huge incentive for this year. His contract is one year for $3 million (with "reasonable" incentives totaling another $2 million). After this year, he'll be 31 and in position for someone to offer him one last big signing bonus deal. If anything will motivate him out of his Oakland funk, this will.
Patriots get a one year rental and give Brady his first true #1 target. Moss gets a chance to revive his career and cash in. It may not work out, but I like the play. |

Re: NE is a superbowl lock.
It seems all of ESPN thinks NE will go all the way too. Which means they'll probably get put out deep in the playoffs. And undefeated in the AFC? Wow.

Re: NE is a superbowl lock.
No way they go undefeated. They are probably just behind San Diego as the SB favorite.

Re: NE is a superbowl lock.
i agree this is a huge move and probably the most likely place for moss to do a 180 and become a great teammate. there were times last year where brady would use troy brown as his go-to receiver in key situations, i mean c'mon, troy [censored] brown.

[ QUOTE ] Who knows if Randy is motivated at all. If he's not they are no lock whatsoever [/ QUOTE ] No team with Moss on it will ever win a title. [/ QUOTE ] ridiculously ignorant statement... |

Re: NE is a superbowl lock.
lol
there have been some really dumb comments in this thread. Is NE the favorite? Possibly. Did Moss make them better? Probably. Are they a lock? Are you stupid? Are they unable to win with Moss? Are you stupid? My God, and I'm even a huge Pats homer. |

Re: NE is a superbowl lock.
Oh, and I'd put the odds of NE going undefeated at about 2%.

Re: NE is a superbowl lock.
Early indications and this vast swell of public perception probably means that NE will be the most overrated team in the NFL entering the season, from a sports betting perspective.
I'll be looking for spots to fade, much as with Baltimore last year. Yes, NE definitely had the best offseason of any team. However, I'm in the camp that Randy Moss will be a detriment to the team, not a positive. Randy Moss TD catches for the past four years: 2003 ================= 17 2004 ============= 13 2005 ======== 8 2006 === 3 |
